Day 1

Transfer to Ichhegaon via Deolo

From NJP, the tour starts with the journey towards Icchegaon via Deolo. More than 25 km away from Kalimpong, Ichhegaon is a breathtaking settlement. It is nestled at an altitude of 6000 feet above sea level. Hence, the entire village offers a captivating view of the snow-clad Himalayan Peaks.

On the way, explore Deolo, a pictorial site at the North-Eastern part of the Kalimpong Town. Situated at an altitude of 1,704 metres above sea level, the village also offers beautiful views of the neighbouring villages of Relli valley and Teesta River as well as the town of Kalimpong.

Reach the predestined homestay at Icchegaon and fresh yourself up to take rest. In the remaining day, spend quality time with your dear ones or wander around this tiny settlement. You will be served a delicious dinner and then spend the night here at Icchegaon.

Day 2

Transfer to Zuluk

Without visiting Zuluk during your tour with Silk Route Package from Njp to Njp looks incomplete. Hence, you will be driven towards Zuluk through the fascinating hilly roads. But before, you will get a chance to witness other mesmerizing settlement of Silk Route region like Rongli, Lingtham, Quokhola Waterfalls, Padamchen, etc.

On the way, after having an Inner Line Permit, explore Rongli, a scenic village of just 6054 households. Bounded by green lush vegetation, you will get amazed by witnessing the mighty Himalayan range and the serenity of the village. Proceed to Lingtham next, a picturesque hamlet situated at an altitude of 5000 feet above the sea level, quite known for its shimmering river Bakhuter Khola, pleasant weather, two magnificent monasteries and peaceful ambience. Lasty Visit Padamchen, a mountainous village at an altitude of 8000 ft. and just 4 km away from Zuluk. The perfect weather, a stunning sunrise, numerous Himalayan birds flying in the sky and the breath-taking view of Kanchenjunga are what you will get to relish here.

Resume your journey again towards Zuluk. And after reaching, check into your homestay and have some rest as you have already gone through a long hectic journey. Rest of the day can be enjoyed by gossiping with your near ones or by strolling around this scenic abode. Overnight Stay at Zuluk.

Day 3

Full Day Zuluk Sightseeing

Zuluk sightseeing will be conducted on Day 3. After breakfast, start your sightseeing excursion with our driver cum guide. Wake up early in the morning and eat your breakfast as it is the day to enjoy a full day sightseeing at Zuluk. First, visit The Thambi View Pont which is located at an altitude of 11000 ft and offers a majestic sunrise looming over snow-clad mountains. Next, visit Gnathang Valley. Situated at an altitude of 13500 ft, Gnathang offers a peaceful ambience and breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding. Visiting to the nearby temple and a Buddhist Monastery will make your soul to rejuvenate itself.

Later of the day, visit Jalep La, a mesmerizing Pass located at an altitude of 13, 999 feet and one of the highest motorable passes in Sikkim. On the way, visit Old Baba Mandir. It is a magnificent temple constructed in the memory of the renowned Indian Soldier named Baba Harbhajan Singh and solely dedicated to his sacrifices for the nation. You will also get a chance to visit a breathtaking Lake named Kupup. Located at an elevation of 13069 feet, this green emerald lake is truly a waterbody of paradise because of its offering of scenic surrounding and tranquil atmosphere.

After this full day sightseeing at Zuluk, get back to your homestay again. Spend some time by taking rest at the homestay. Evening at Leisure and after the dinner, overnight stay at Zuluk.

Day 4

Transfer to Mankhim

After early morning breakfast, check out from the homestay and drive towards Mankhim. Situated in the hilltop near Dalapchand Village, Mankhim is usually a viewpoint from where you can catch a glimpse of the stunning view of Kanchenjunga and the panoramic view of the iconic Lampokhari Lake.

Reach your predestined homestay after covering approximately 47 km of journey distance within 3 hours. Fresh yourself up and go for nature walking in and around the village. After dinner, overnight stay at Mankhim.

Day 5

Drop at New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP)

Have an early morning breakfast to start your returning journey. Check out from the homestay and cover approx. 112 km of road distance to reach your desired station within 4 hours. The tour with Silk Route Package from Njp to Njp ends successfully.

No, local transport facility is not available in Silkroute. One has to travel in reserved vehicles from one place to another in the entire Silkroute region.
There are standard category vehicles like Sumo or Bolero which are easily found in Silkroute. Apart from standard vehicles, luxury SUVs like Scorpio or Xylo is also found but less in number as the road conditions are not appropriate for luxury vehicles.
You will find basic home-cooked food and the menu consists of rice or roti, dal, vegetables, chicken, egg, etc. However, fish and mutton is rarely found in the menu. It would be advisable to not expect any fancy food items as these are homestays run by local people unlike the hotels found in different places.
